Digital signal processing methods for impedance microfluidic cytometry
Impedance microfluidic cytometry is a noninvasive, label-free technology that can characterize the dielectric properties of single particles (beads/cells) at high speed. In this paper we show how digital signal processing methods are applied to the impedance signals for noise removal and signal recovery in an impedance microfluidic cytometry. Two methods are used; correlation to identify typica...
متن کاملDigital signal processing methods for biosequence comparison.
A method is discussed for DNA or protein sequence comparison using a finite field fast Fourier transform, a digital signal processing technique; and statistical methods are discussed for analyzing the output of this algorithm. This method compares two sequences of length N in computing time proportional to N log N compared to N2 for methods currently used. This method makes it feasible to compa...
متن کاملHydrodynamic focusing for microfluidic impedance cytometry: a system integration study
prototype lab-on-a-chip for experimental validation using latex particles. We find that ionic diffusion can be a critical limiting factor even at high Péclet number. Moreover, we explore geometric variations, revealing that the ionic diffusion-related distance between the center of the hydrodynamic focusing junction and the impedance measurement electrodes plays a dominant role. With our device...
متن کاملA novel coplanar layout enabling accurate microfluidic impedance cytometry
Single-cell impedance cytometry is a non-invasive method for characterizing individual cells and particles [1, 2]. A microfluidic impedance chip typically consists of a microchannel equipped with microelectrodes and filled with a conductive buffer. An AC voltage is applied to a pair of electrodes, which causes a current to flow between them. The current change upon passage of a cell between the...

This paper presents a common framework for subband doubletalk detectors. Within this framework a number of low-complexity subband doubletalk detectors are evaluated in comparison with a corresponding fullband detector. The evaluation is performed by using real-data offline calculations. The evaluation indicates that the subband approach significantly improves the performance.
